Marijuana news from contributing authors and staff writers on the latest in marijuana and medical marijuana
Was there someone still saying that marijuana is more dangerous than alcohol? Seems harder and harder to make that case as police in North Adams, MA are "strongly" advising people to not chase bears while armed with a hatchet and under the influence.
In a post on the department's Facebook page, North Adams police said that an unidentified man, who they say was reportedly drunk, was found Monday night chasing a bear with a dull hatchet.
"Yes, that really did happen," police said.
The man was taken into protective custody due to his intoxication.
Investigators added that if anyone sees a bear, it's advised to leave it alone and call police.
"We certainly don't need anyone going all Davy Crockett chasing it through the woods drunk with a dull hatchet. It is just a bad idea and not going to end well," the post said.
Police are still working to determine "what his end game was."
