Marijuana news from contributing authors and staff writers on the latest in marijuana and medical marijuana
The INDO EXPO is coming up quick - NOVEMBER 15-16 in DENVER.
The upcoming Indo Expo is the latest talk-of-the-town, featuring many of the biggest names in the industry. National and local cannabis companies will convene at the Denver Mart for a weekend of seminars, a hiring fair, and networking events to facilitate synergy. This business-to-business trade show will focus on new ideas and development, and can make a great launchpad for anyone hoping to get more involved in the tight-knit community.
Expo seminars range from growing to cooking, job-searching, marketing and more; Oaksterdam University will offer onsite classes following their standard full-length curriculum, covering such topics as how to open a dispensary, work with legal issues, and advanced growing techniques. Attendees can even become certified bud-tenders.
For those who missed the first auditions for “The Marijuana Show” (a sort of “Shark Tank” for the cannabis industry), there will be another chance to make a pitch at the Expo. Entrepreneurs with business ideas or inventions could get the chance to approach a panel of investors for capital investment on the reality television series’ second season.
There’s an extra chance to get hired at the public job fair, Sunday from 10am-6pm; $20 entrance fee also gets you into cannabis career seminars by local business owners. “These companies represent the “best in breed” for their respective business segments,” says Stephanie Swimmer, Executive Director of Events & Trade Shows at the Denver Mart. “Meet with companies that have positions in bud-tending, IT, account reps, sales reps, marketing and administration to name a few.”
