Green Crack from Kind Meds

Forget any flags for political correctness, no one questions the justification for Green Crack’s name, christened by Snoop Dogg himself over two decades ago (according to legend). The flower is tour de force, if not a rite of passage for the average toker--many of us critics had a story to tell of the first time we acquired a satchel. Kind Meds definitely sets a high standard for the bud, which is already known for its full-body, full-heady soaring.

Our sample nuggets were soft, “very Skunk #1-ish” in shape, and boasted a vivid cascade of greens to dark blue, technicolor against orange hairs and sticky, sandy trichome cover. “The first sniff reminds me of an IPA,” quipped one critic. She ground up a variety of scents, from a creamy tart to fruity grains, with even a small extra burst of crystals at the end.

With the nuclear bomb of an initial hit, the face vibed hard, and a shell-shocked reflex to collapse threw us to the floor. The sounds around us “reverberated in and out of focus,” as if someone were opening and shutting a window. After 15 minutes, we had recovered from the momentary grips of uncontrolled euphoria, still teetering but surfing the high tide.

Though stuck in a slow-motion wonderment, the peak was clear-headed enough to allow us to find a safe place to wait out the wackiness, and thank God we could function. Sitting still proved difficult; we wanted to get up but also felt compelled to laugh uncontrollably, write some music, puzzle-solve, you get the picture. In fact, we were extremely productive, for up to about three hours, as long as we didn’t have to move too much.

Sure, GC is one indulgence every connoisseur should experience at least once. But like seeing a special band the first time, there’s always that lingering hazy memory of the first super awesome experience -- that many spend a lifetime of trying to recreate the fleeting moment. Kind Meds does a dank job of recreating that face-ripping time warp from our first introductions to GC years ago, with the same riveting supernatural floating, but with a hard grip safely on the reins.
