HYBRID
Mega Queso is a hybrid cultivated by Nameless Genetics in Los Angeles that was grown from a Sativa-dominant clone passed down in 2008 by Humboldt-based breeder and friend “Josh.” The seed bank maintained a healthy mother for future clones, naming the cut Mega Queso to designate this energetic, flavorful strain. According to the seed bank, the clone-only strain grows short and stout, with small leaves and heavily resinous buds that flower in 40-56 days. Heavy resin production reportedly begins during the third week of flowering. The strain is said to have uplifting, rejuvenating effects. Its THCA content averages 21.9%, according to the seed bank, with a terpene profile that includes beta-Caryophyllene, limonene, alpha-Humulene, and linalool — which may account for the strain’s subtle, cheesy aroma and fruity flavor, especially upon exhale. It won Best Medical Sativa Flower at the SoCal Medical Cannabis Cup in 2017.
