Album Notes - Cosmo Sheldrake - The Much Much How How and I
Cosmo Sheldrake has an out of this world name to match a sound that seems to have been assembled by the musical gods.
Yes, the 28-year-old Englishman's real name is in fact Cosmo Sheldrake. Yes, his debut LP is actually called The Much Much How How and I. No, I don't have any idea what that means, but the record itself sounds like someone tabbed Benjamin Clementine to write melodies and nonsensical lyrics for a Philip Glass score to be sung by Alt-J.
Initially out April 6, 2018, The Much Much How How and I was re-released 365 days later as a deluxe edition, which is the 2018 original plus an instrumental version of the exact same album. An absurd but fun-loving adolescent vibe pervades the lyrics, underpinned by the more sophisticated flowing orchestrations. Its quirky, unique nature calls to mind another famous Cosmo. Sheldrake is a talent for whom even the sky is not the limit.
