Album Notes - Woods - Perennial
A couple of weeks ago I made a playlist of two new albums released the same day: Shakey Graves' Movie of the Week and Woods' Perennial. The former bled so naturally into the latter that I thought I'd take the same approach with Album Notes.
On their twelfth record, the folkie-psych rockers out of Brooklyn lean into those parts of the equation with equal aplomb. Opening and closing with instrumentals, along with a couple more mixed in, Woods are in no hurry on this mellow affair. As their name may allude, the band's stylings pair perfectly with the autumn air slowly moving in, and this offering will only fit better as the temperatures continue to drop.
