Established in 2020 The Hemp Barkery began in a small basement apartment in Ghent, Norfolk after Angela Kapetanakis (Owner/Operator) and her significant other, Butch, rescued a dog in July of 2020. They soon realized their dog, Vera, suffered from severe anxiety and PTSD from her previous living situation. She would squat and urinate in fear if anyone approached her, she chewed everything in sight- even the drywall, and they could tell she was in general distress most of the time. After several failed attempts at prescribed medication and store-bought anxiety chews, Angela began researching the benefits of CBD in canines and used her baking skills and creativity to make her own fresh baked Doggy Delights infused with CBD.
