Established in 2017 Mary Lopez Carter envisioned a retail store that would help others with cannabis as the cannabis was helping those in her family. Hemp Oil Rockstar was the first creation. In 2018, Mary opened the very first dedicated Cannabis store in Durham County, NC. This store was located at the Streets at Southpoint Mall. This store would be moved to the current location in Durham in 2020. In 2019, Mary and the team celebrated the Grand Opening of the new flagship store in Hillsborough. This store would become the "proving ground" for many new products for hemp health. In 2021, Mary formed Sana Distribution to meet the demands of growing retail needs for hemp and health products. Carolina Hemp Hut and the sister organizations are now one of the largest hemp operations in the State of North Carolina and one of the leading distributors of hemp products across the nation.
