Awesome crew working there on a Friday night! I’m in the Bay Area from 503 for a night. Looked up dispos and found only delivery near me in San Ramon. Delivering a lone pre-roll was not happening. Not a stoner to be daunted, and having rented a FSD Tesla, I punched in the Hayward address and let Elon’s brain child take over. It was hopping in downtown. I snagged a 2 hour street parking spot two blocks away. I started walking down B St. I kept walking right past the storefront. It was busy and I mistook the dudes out front checking IDs as club bouncers! 😂 I ambled down to Mission Blvd before I turned back thinking, knowing I must’ve passed it. During my extracurricular excursion, I enjoyed several live bands’ tunes spilling out music club doors, made fast friends through a smile shared with a houseless person, and stopped to chat about my shoulder skull tattoo with a vato who looked like he surprised himself by talking to me, a middle-aged white woman walking alone down the Hayward main drag on a Friday night. I told him, “That’s Priscilla she’s one of my spirit guides,” and offered prayer hands to my ever-present spirit team. “Respect,” he tipped his white straw fedora, trimmed with a black velvet bow, at me. We smiled. I love people!!! Finally, I arrived back at the not-club that is in actuality a tall-ceilinged, Doric-columned building that houses the powder blue showroom that is Cookies Hayward. It smelled like heaven. The not-bouncer said, “Hey! I saw you walk by before!” I’m kind of unique and I glow with self-love so people notice me. I was like, “Yeah, and I’m not even high yet!” LOL but what came out of my mouth was,”Huh huh yeah I guess I missed it,” like a doofus. Inside they rechecked my ID and I said I was from Oregon…everything is different. The inside greeters were like, “First time here! Welcome!” And they gave me a 30% off coupon! Sweet! I might only be after a pre-roll, but I’ll always take a discount! Stacks of goodies decorated tables and shelves out in the open — in Oregon, everything is behind glass. Cool. But I really just wanted to turn and burn, so I skipped the browsing (it was almost 9 PM and time for them to close anyway — I was grateful I made it after my detour). There were two female-presenting budtenders working the desk. A tall guy with a perfect beard and an urban lumberjack mien asked if I’d been helped. He was going to hand me off to the ladies but they were busy. So I told him what I was after. He came out with a laced Cherry Pie 🍒 🥧 pre-roll for $15. Decent price…plus I got my 30%! The cashier budtender girl took my money. I told her in Portland the dispos are all open till 10 by law. She was like, “Dude, we need our nights, too!” I happen to agree…although selfishly I’m happy my home stores are open that late. 😜 Back in San Ramon after a fierce Target run and a stop at Chipotle where the cashier gave me a 20% discount because we had a nice conversation and I didn’t harass him for being out of guac and chips, I plugged the Model 3 in at my hotel…where I found out it’s gratis to charge! It’s been a good, good day! I attract freebies and discounts. I stood in the parking lot, feeling the breeze carrying the Bay fog inland, and sparked my j. It was beautiful. Super stoney as Cherry Pie should be and a lovely boost from the oil lacing. Great suggestion, Mr. Lumberjack! It was a lovely experience all around. Every employee was kind and welcoming. I loved all my interactions. Product was fab. 10/10 would fly this airline again!
