I had decided that I wanted to take up using a pipe rather than to continue using cigarettes so I did a search and found their shop in Lane Ave. The shop is well hidden so I called the shop, the guy told me where to go and told me he would wait outside for me. With his help, I found the place and was escorted in. I was a bit daunted by the selection but Curt was beyond patient with me. First he helped me find a pipe, a GORGEOUS Burl Churchwarden Pipe (large comfortable to hold bowl with VERY LONG STEM..16" ?) think Gandalf's pipe from the Lord of the Ring movies that came from an estate sale and reconditioned. Next Curt helped me select the tools of the trade. A 3 piece Pipe Nail/ Scoop/Tamper. Then Xtra Long Pipe Cleaners. Then the fun part of selecting a tobacco. He made some suggestions before I started the fun task of going from jar to jar smelling them before making my selections. I then purchased my items after Curt had thrown in a large velvet bag to protect my beautiful new pipe and a supply of matches. Then we went to a table where (with assistance) I learned how to properly fill and light a pipe. Before long, I was happily puffing away while enjoying a cup of coffee! I was also taught the proper way of caring for my pipe. Like running a pipe cleaner through it before every use (When the bowl is cold), never removing the stem unless the bowl is stone cold and how to clean the bowl I must have been in there near 3 hours and never felt rushed! Most likely I will be going there about once a week to try a new flavour of tobacco!
