I just had a horrible experience at the Disco Tobacco Outlet in Purvis, MS. It was concerning the Western Union debit card. I came in and stood at the counter and there was a gentleman at the counter as well. I had to load some money on the debit card to pay a bill and was waiting my turn. This woman asked me what I needed. I told her that I needed to load money on my card. She told me to call out the number to my card for her. I told her that I was not in the habit of calling out credit/debit card numbers in front of other people, to which the man standing next to me told me he was deaf in his right ear (which if you think about it, he wasn't even in on our conversation and if he could hear me to answer me about his deafness, then he could have heard my debit card number and expiration date.). Anyways, the woman said that she was having trouble with her eyes and told me again to call out the number to her. I told her I would not. There was another girl (younger) working back there. You would think that she could have at least brought the card over to her and quietly read it to her co-worker, to protect my privacy. The older woman came to the counter and snatched the card off the counter and walked off in a huff. After the man left, I told her that it is dangerous to ask for card numbers verbally and she said that she does it all the time. She was very, very rude. I was getting aggravated by the minute and told her not to take an attitude with me. She said "I'm not, but I sure can." I was even more frustrated with her comment, but was short of time to go to work and I needed to pay my bill. Very, very unprofessional behavior. Sure, it is generally a cigarette selling job, and not much need for professional behavior, but I really think that Western Union should pull their operation out of that place. If she is getting people to call out their debit card numbers and there are others around, she is putting those people's information/money in jeopardy. I wish I knew who the owner of Disco Tobacco is... he needs to know what kind of employee he has. I have been the victim of credit/debit card fraud. I have lost enough money already through thievery without someone helping it along. LuWanda C.
