Established in 1994 This is our very first location! We opened in 1994 in Margate, Florida as a smoke shop and body piercing studio. Bean bags were set up around the store for people to come hang out, talk about the Grateful Dead and music was traded! As the store grew, Jay Work decided to better establish Grateful J's with the purpose of giving people a place to shop where they feel comfortable. His attitude is "It's not what you smoke, It's how you smoke it". A pipe is just a pipe, an inanimate object that controls the flow of smoke to your mouth. Margate gives you that "authentic head shop feeling" the second you walk in store and we intend to keep it that way! Margate carries all the same products the other four locations have!
