Established in 2011 Kava is a traditional drink of the South Pacific island region. The kava tree is a type of pepper plant. The roots of these plants are finely ground and turned into a chilled beverage served in a (plastic) coconut half-shell. Kava has recently made its way over to the States, and the majority of our country's kava bars are located here in Florida... but the word is getting out and the kava phenomenon is starting to spread through the U.S.
