As an anorak of a well poured dram, I have always wanted to find a neighborhood spot that can also be a hub to expand my knowledge in the world of acqua vitae. I was recently calling shops close to my home in search of my daily drinker(Lagavulin 16) which seems to have become difficult to find. Daniel answered the phone and told me they had a bottle but it was reserved and the client hadn't picked it up in over a week. Daniel told me he would call the client and see if he was still interested. Daniel called me back in 10 minutes, told me he had spoken to the client who was out of state and that the bottle is all mine if I wanted. I went to pick my bottle up the next day and walked into what felt like heaven. Tall wooden shelves packed with holy grails, oddities and favorites. I was in disbelief of how epic this shop was. Daniel was working and showed me around with top of the line customer service and an impeccable amount of knowledge. He offered me a tasting of some newly acquired islay scotches as well. I'll be frequenting weekly from now on. I look forward to being called by my first name when I walk in again soon. Obviously I walked out with my daily drinker and a plus one bottle.
