Went in for one pack of cigarettes that's all. Now I am a part of their computer records FOREVER simply because I used a debit card ($10 minimum so ended with two OVERPRICED packs). I wasn't even at the front counter when the sales pitch for their THC products began. "It costs so much money to get a card (medical marijuana)". Huh? Do you think perhaps because the key word is "medical" in connection with marijuana? Perhaps legal? The manager or owner whoever she is (blond hair, unfriendly, rude) told me because they are a smoke shop they can't risk chargebacks so she needed my drivers license. I thought she was going to just check it and hand it back but Noooo she began typing like a madwoman and inputting my personal information into their system. Remember that I'm just there for cigarettes. Ask yourself if you are there buying pot if you really want to be part of their permanent records. Do you want to ever be questioned for having THC without a legal medical marijuana card. Who in their right mind wants to be connected with that type of operation. Not me so the next day I went in seeing that my debit card for cigarettes had in fact been paid to ask them nicely to remove me from their permanent records. That woman couldn't have been more unpleasant and rude. No can do. I explained (still nicely) that if they wouldn't do that for me I was going to notify the St Pete PD. She said "don't care. Go ahead". And that's what I did. I talked to dispatch and explained what was going on there and that I was upset about them having all my personal information forever. I was told that they shouldn't do that and asked for their addy. They know Purple Haze. So again do you want to buy pot (THC) from a location where you're part of their computer records when law enforcement knows of them? Cigarettes are way overpriced as well. This review never would have been written if the manager/owner had clearly explained their practices to me and if she wouldn't have been so blatantly rude. I'm all for legal medical marijuana and in states where it's legal recreational as well. Somehow they are skirting the law but I believe it will catch up with them. Our law enforcement here is top notch and are familiar with Purple Haze. Again. Do you want to take a risk purchasing THC from a place like this that will keep your personal information in their system forever? I'm planning on pursuing my complaint unless I receive a letter stating that my personal information has been removed from their system. Wondering now why our beautiful city allows such shady practices. Seriously who needs to keep your personal information for merely buying cigarettes with a debit card? Keep it forever?
