I literally live around the corner, so I walk over here merely because of the convenience. Otherwise I wouldn't even bother with this store. Some of the employees are nice, others are just plain rude. The older guy who sometimes works the register when I go in always has a hair across his ass. The first time I met him I was checking out the sun glass display and I guess I took too long in his opinion cause he snapped at me and told me to "make a choice already". Instead of telling him to go pound sand like I should have, I just grabbed a pair and bought them, cause apparently I'm a doormat. Since then my impression of him hasn't improved at all. So today I ran over there to grab a couple snacks to munch on and some cigarettes for my husband. I was waiting for a contractor to come over to remove some items from my property. He was going to be there any minute, so I just ran over to the store real quick so I wouldn't miss him. But I accidentally brought a DTA card with me instead of my credit card. I'm a rep payee for a relative. The minute the guy saw the DTA card, he amped up his bitchy attitude - you know, because all people on food stamps must be losers. His attitude aside, I now realized I didn't have my card on me. I had the cash I was going to pay the contractor, which meant I'd have to make the contractor wait while I ran to the ATM for more cash. As I handed him the cash, I said to myself "Damn I hope I can make it to the ATM before he gets here" and the guy snapped back "Well this isn't MY fault!" OK guy, first of all, dial it back a bit. Second, no one was talking to you. So I said, you know what, never mind, I'll just run over and grab my card and come back and pay with that. Why inconvenience the contractor, who is perfectly pleasant and sweet every time I deal with him, in favor of this man who is always rude in every dealing I've ever had with him? Besides, unlike my contractor, this guy isn't going anywhere - he's there til the store closes. So I said I'll be right back I'm going to grab the card. And the guy gets all indignant and yells "You're just going to leave!?" I said "No, I'm coming back. Let me just run over and grab my card." His super mature, customer-friendly response? "Don't ever come back here!" Really? No problem jerk! We will never spend another dollar there again. If the owner of this store has any sense, they will show this guy the door. So far I've told two people what happened, and both of them said this guy is a jerk to them every time they go in there. One said he basically had to tell the guy off to get him to drop his attitude. Not exactly a stellar reputation.
