Established in 2013 Jim Knaus has always loved smoking a pipe, and so loves the Tinder Box. It had always been his dream to open one, so when he retired from the Navy, he and his wife, Teresa, did just that. The first Tinder Box store in Tennessee was opened in the Mall of Memphis in 1981, where it remained an icon for over 20 years. In 1997, they opened the second Tinder Box and brought their daughter, Lynne Norton, into the business at the Wolfchase Galleria mall. It has a wide range of tobacco products as well as a large selection of gift items. In 2008, the Collierville Tinder Box was opened. Its large humidor allows for a wide variety of cigars and its smoking lounge is a comfortable friendly place to spend an afternoon.
