Jamaican, also referred to as Jamaican weed, Jamaican strain, or simply Jamaica, refers to a variety of sativa landrace strains that are indigenous to the island of Jamaica. The top reported aromas are a pungent, skunky-sweet musky odor. The High Times Cannabis Cup in 2015 was held in Negril, Jamaica, to encourage the cultivation and preservation of native Jamaican strains.

If you are able to procure seeds of Jamaican weed, it grows best in a hot, tropical outdoor climate, as it may quickly outgrow an indoor space. This strain requires some patience from the grower, as it has an extremely long flowering period that can last as long as five months.
