J. H. T. Vape opened in the old Crow Wing Food Co-Op building. This is an older building on the main drag in Brainerd; the outside signage and appearance of the store looked promising and like a locally owned and operated business, which clearly it is. The owners knowledge on the product line seems very good. He knows his product line of vapes and the juice that goes in them. On the inside I didn't know if I was in a daycare or the old Citadel game shop. The shop is a shambles. Far from professional in appearance on the inside. Also every time I have visited the shop there have been children in the shop ranging from an infant to a girl of 4 to 6 years of age that I assume is the owners daughter. Toys and her food have been on the tables and she disturbs customers expecting them to interact and 'play' with her. The owners overall attitude is basically alright, however, he does seem to get an attitude if a customer refers to the flavored juices as 'oils'. I was also put off by his guffaw at me when I made a purchase that was under $20 and paid with a card. He asked if I was paying cash, which isn't an uncommon question, but his rude, indignant noise made when I said no to cash, made me want to seek a store in Baxter instead of patronizing this local establishment. Due to the attitude of the owner, unprofessional appearance of the store and constant presence of children in a shop that should be 18 or older like most tobacco and vape shops, I give the place 2 stars.
