Gorilla Glue #4 from Epic Remedy

Gorilla Glue #4 from Epic Remedy

July 18, 2019

Gorilla Glue #4 (GG4) is a sativa-dominant sucker-punch, not for the faint of heart. The strain, which gets its moniker from the resinous adhesive-like stickiness of its crystal cover, is a common top shelf selection at Colorado establishments but not one always done right. That’s one reason it was a treat to sample Epic Remedy’s crop, known for the tenacious potency, and we were not disappointed.

The buds were pale, dense but spongy, and well-trimmed. With bright orange hairs and a full mask of crystals, she’d been cured to perfection and the jar could barely hide it. She exploded with organic perfume, earthy with sweet pine; one critic also noted a hint of mocha and phantom berry. The grind was off the charts on the sticky-scale, ideal for a glass bowl.

Our first puff set hair on end and sent a rippling chill through the skin. For about ten minutes we floundered, struggling to make the best of gravity and our senses. The high grew and grew at a faster pace, until it seized full control. A few had to stop what they were doing, which was good because most had no set plans or deadlines, leaving us spaced and giddy. Free-style walking--if not, movement in general--was like swimming through the air.

We ambled around and needed munchies. We were whimsical and adrift. All of which, was great. “Makes you happy enough to forget your depression,” croaked one critic. “Be careful smoking it mid-afternoon with a plateful of things left to do,” warned another. “You you may find yourself in a euphoric state of meandering, swinging dizzily from one hangout to the next.” We were definitely not productive -- but nobody worried about dangling obligations.

In the end, we agreed, this GG4 was hands-down, the best thing we’d tried all week, and not for the casual toker. Perfect after a long day of work, expect to melt into statue-mode on the couch for a maximum duration 4-5 hours at maximum dosage--a perfect prelude to sleep. Or take it earlier in the day and go on an adventure! The sky is the limit, as long as any direction will do.
